International Steampunk City
Steampunk Festival (CVD Performing)

Enjoy some Vintage Dance during the Festival. CVD, under the direction of
Barbara Pugliese, will be leading some dancing during the weekend,
including a Victorian Tea Dance at 3pm Saturday. Barbara will also be teaching a
dance workshop Saturday morning, at 11am. Both will be in the Jackson
Room of the Charles River Museum of Industry.

Orchard House formally opened to the public on May 27, 1912. This year, on the Memorial Day
holiday weekend, plan to spend time with us as we celebrate this incredible milestone. CVD will be performing on Saturday.

Other activities will include thematic guided tours,
Living History portrayers, a silhouette artist, working cider press, postal stamp cancellations,
and refreshments. All outdoor events are free of charge; admission costs apply for tours.

Nahant Victorian Day Ball An Evening in Vienna
A 19th Century Summer Ball
July 16, 7 pm
Nahant, Massachusetts
Sponsored by: Vintage Victorian and The Commonwealth Vintage Dancers
A 19th Century, with live music provided
by Spare Parts. Period attire of the 1850s through 1890s is
encouraged, modern formal or semi-formal wear is appreciated. Light refreshments will be provided at the
intermission. Current plans include a dance workshop (3-5pm), taught by Ben Bishop, to be held the
day of the ball. A few dances will be taught during the Ball
including the Nahant Quadrilles. Spectators welcome! Sunday’s event will be a tea and maybe a concert, details will be posted soon!

Enjoy a week of dancing amid the splendors of the Gilded Age in Newport, RI. Featured in the New York Times in 2011

Most Memorable Events of 2009 & 2010 by Bill Cunningham of the New York Times!
An exceptional week of dance and elegance, with dance instruction covering popular ballroom dances of 19th
and early 20th Centuries. Formal balls to be held at splendid mansions
including: the Roger Williams Park Casino, Glen Manor House , The Rotunda Ballroom at
Easton’s Beach and the spectacular Ochre Court.

Fezziwig’s Ball
Saturday, December 8, 7 pm
Old Town Hall, 32 Derby Square, Salem, Massachusetts
Sponsored by: The Commonwealth Vintage Dancers
and The Institute for Public History at Gordon College
You are Cordially Invited to Attend Fezziwig’s Ball, an unforgettable Evening of
Dance and Merriment from the Era of Dickens. Much of the program will consist of set dances which will be
taught during the evening. These will include such Victorian favorites as Pop Goes the Weasel, other easy
contradances and simple quadrilles, as well as Sir Roger de Coverly, an English version of the Virginia Reel.
Interspersed with these will be elegant couple dances such as the waltz and polka. The evening will begin
at 7pm with a lantern procession through the streets of Salem. Dancing will commence at 8pm. Lavish
refreshments will be served at the intermission. The evening’s festivities will conclude at 11pm.
Modern Evening Dress or Costume from Dickens’ Lifetime is Requested.
