Join the Commonwealth Vintage Dancers for a recreation of Mr. Fezziwig’s ball from A Christmas Carol. Learn historically accurate dancing, enjoy marvelous period music played live, and indulge in delicious refreshments in a festive ballroom.

Please wear costume from the lifetime of Charles Dickens (1812 to 1871) or modern formal wear. All dances will be taught and are highly participatory.

Tickets are non-refundable but they can be transferred to a friend if your plans change. We know that it is hard to plan around the holiday season so we will keep the ticket site open until the very last minute. If you suddenly find that you can attend, you can see whether the event is sold out. If there are still openings, you can buy a ticket before you begin to dress for the evening!

We do not have a children’s price for this event. We welcome young people who can pay attention and participate in the dances, usually over the age of 13, but they must buy tickets at the general admission price.

If the state of Massachusetts or the city of Salem declare a snow emergency on the day of the ball, we will cancel the event and refund everyone’s money. In the event of a cancellation we will send an email, and post on Facebook and on the homepage of the www.vintagedancers.org website.
