NEWPORT VINTAGE DANCE WEEK PLANS ARE UNDERWAY!
August 1 to 6, 2010
Named "2009 Most Memorable Party of the Year" by the New York Times!
Travel back in time to the summer playground of the Gilded Age. Perfect your dancing skills with classes taught by leading experts on
vintage dance. Experience the breathtaking opulence of America’s finest ballrooms as you dance in Newport’s famous
mansions. Let yourself be immersed in a bygone era as you sip tea by the shore.
We are planning a new and exciting Dance Week for this year, our second year on the campus of Roger
Williams University in charming Bristol, RI (just 5 minutes from Portsmouth, approx.30 minutes from Newport). Registration brochures will be
mailed and made available on our web site in March, and for the first time we will be accepting payment by credit card!
Our plans
for the week’s classes and special events are still underway, with many details still unconfirmed, please check back to this
website frequently for updates. Here are some of the details available for 2010. We hope you are as excited as we are in
looking forward to another year amidst the splendours of Newport.
Newport 2010 will begin on Sunday, August 1. There will be an optional early arrival on Saturday, July 31. Please note that these are
earlier days of the week than in previous years. The dance week will run through Friday morning August 6. We are working on some fun
ideas for Friday, so you will want to get the full details before reserving airline tickets.
