Four couples dancing a German figure, where they show off their ability to waltz without getting entangled in ribbon.

Join us for a full weekend of fun and instruction, perfect for beginners and also experts. Saturday classes will cover beginning waltz, advanced waltz, quadrilles and contradances. Saturday grand ball will be spectacularly beautiful. The Sunday workshop will give participants the choice of making a lady’s flower headdress or a gentleman’s silk stock. The Sunday Fete, with dancing, games and tea, will give everyone a chance to use their newly learned dance skills in relaxed setting. We recommend comfortable clothes and leather soled shoes for the classes. (No sneakers or rubber soled shoes – they’re bad for dancing.) If you have Civil War period dress to wear to the ball and fete, you will be much admired. If you don’t have any, just wear modern clothes that look “classic” or “timeless”, and you’ll have just as much fun as those in period dress.
